For over forty years, the Albuquerque Museum has provided a rich cultural voice in Albuquerque, the state of New Mexico and the Southwest region. It continues to inspire the community through exhibitions on local history and art, while also attracting exhibitions from major institutions around the world. The Museum's regional art collection focuses on the American Southwest, and its history and photoarchive collections primarily relate to the life and culture of Albuquerque and the middle Rio Grande Valley. As such, the Museum enriches its visitors through lectures, tours, classes, concerts and exhibition openings, regularly provided to the community in a breath-taking architectural setting.

The Museum is a rich voice of culture in the Southwest.

Accredited by the American Association of Museums, The Museum is supported by the City of Albuquerque and the Albuquerque Museum Foundation. The Museum’s purpose is to share knowledge and appreciation of art and history, collect and preserve objects of historic and artistic interest, and encourage continued excellence of the cultural life of the community.
